Ever wonder how the Founding Fathers such as George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, gathered together to form the ideas such as the Constitution, Bill of Rights etc.? Paul Revere talked in his memoirs about meetings that he and the other Sons of Liberty - Samuel Adams, John Adams, Dr. Joseph Warren, and others held at Pubs. When they began to worry that the Redcoats were going to march to Concord to look for munitions, this is where they met to organize an eavesdropping operation so that they could overhear British plans. In fact, the Sons of Liberty met so often that the "Green Dragon" came to be called the "Headquarters of the American Revolution." Later, in 1788, the Patriots met in this pub to draw up a resolution to support the Federal Constitution. So believe it or not the Founding Fathers regularly met in a variety of venues including pubs and taverns to draft the nation’s earliest laws and shape this country. Some taverns like to claim that they fueled the fervor behind the revolt against British rule! Imagine what we can do!
We would like to make Liberty House the "IT" spot, where you can sit, drink & dine where "We the people" can gather together and discuss ideas and contemplate America’s future. Figure out ways to communicate with legislators and have our ideas heard! Learn about our true Nation's history.
The development of The Liberty House arose from a napkin idea between James Marshal and Richard (Owner of Bonakers Seafood Restaurant) where it was clearly demonstrated that there is indeed a need to provide Conservative Republicans in Brevard County with educational, social, recreational and cultural opportunities/ activities. There are sooooo many factions of Conservative groups in the US.
This provides an oppotunity for all of these groups to come together with the one common goal. To get TRUE Conservative Republicans elected. The BOARD will consist of one person from every Major Conservative group in the Country. The ambiance will be pub or tavern like with decor to mimic what it may have been like then during the days of yore. Come follow in the footseps of the Founding Fathers - and enjoy some refreshments at the same time.
So if you want to tell your friends and colleagues back home that you visited a true Liberty Group, heard with your own ears where the Sons of Liberty planned the American Revolution, and actaully learned about our rich history (not taught in history books) then this group should be on your "must visit" list. The Liberty House will be meeting every other Saturday Night starting September 24th, opening with Derrick Hicks talking about the Founding Fathers. The hours are 8pm till close. Will have music, history trivia, prizes.
We are proud to announce that Bonakers Seafood Restaurant and Bar One will help Sponsor these events. These two venues will be the first of these soon to be "Historic Watering Holes". We will be moving each month from Venue to Venue starting in January 2012, throughout the US. Just in time for the election cycle. Who knows, you might even sit in the very same spot where our next Conservative Republican Senator, Congressman or even President once raised a glass.
